The Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation announces an essay contest for High School Students in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam Women's Memorial. Students from throughout the country are invited to participate. The winning student, his/her teacher, and a parent will be funded to come to Washington, D. C. for our Anniversary Celebration November 9-11, 2013. The winner will also receive a $250 stipend. Essay deadline is September 10th, 2013!

This program is unique because it encourages our young people to reach out into their communities and get to know a woman veteran and to explore with her the story of her Vietnam era service. They'll write about it and, we hope, come to appreciate and honor history and personal service.

Instructions for the essay contest are provided below.

We encourage educators and friends of the Vietnam Women's Memorial to spread this information far and wide to offer many young people in your communities this opportunity.
